10 Days until the Hatfields & McCoys premiere

Only 10 more days until the premiere of Hatfields & McCoys on The History Channel.
Don’t forget that our new album, “Famous For Killing Each Other,”
which coincides with the new mini-series, is now available for pre-order on iTunes.

I always envisioned Kevin playing my 2X great grandfather Jim McCoy in a model ie about my family’s feud with the Hatfields. I am happy to see a new version being told even if Kevin is playing old Devil Anse himself. I am so happy to see the scene of Anse admiring the bravery of Jim McCoy will be included because my branch of the family has always been very proud of him. Though my Dad was born in Kentucky where all of this happened, I actually grew up in New York City far from the events. The subject of the feud was always a taboo subject but my generation wanted to know. One of the most gratifying moments in my life was when I travelled to West Virginia to shake the hand of Devil Anse Hatfield’s grandson, Henry. Being the 3x great grandson of Randall McCoy I didn’t know what to expect but I could not have been treated if the Hatfield had been my own family. I am a proud member of the United States Air Force and would like to personally thank Kevin for telling our story.

Ciao Kevin and John! I wish I were able to see this 3-night production next weekend but am in Italy at the moment working on some art of my own. Italy and art are two obsessions of mine that I equate with loving your movies and music not to mention the many other projects you are both involved with! Although I truly believe that the satisfaction of creating something is its own reward, I can’t help thinking that this is a very special project for you both because you go back so far in your own creative lives. I’ll be bringing home “From Where I Stand” to console myself… Haha!
Sending you and Modern West all the best for an exciting experience as the world is about to change for the band!! As Johnny Carson once said to you Kevin, as he sheepishly tried to excuse himself for cutting your scenes out of “The BiG Chill”, ” I saw buffalo in your future… I saw baseball…!” Well, I see big things for you all!!!!!!!!!!! Hugs and happy times!
